The Ray Hubbard Bass Club finished up 2021 with our annual two day Championship on Lake O' The Pines on November 13-14. Weather was cold in the mornings both days but light winds and lots of sun made for nice days to fish. Quite a few people qualified for this that did not come out, but we had 21 boats come out and fish. Keeper bites seemed pretty hard to get for a lot of teams although the extended hours on Saturday helped with bringing a bunch of limits in. By Sunday the top three teams had a pretty large separation from the rest of the pack and it took two great days to finish high. After we closed the scales on Sunday. the team of Chris Atkinson and myself finished out a dream season by taking the win with a two day weight of 37.98 pounds, just nipping the second place finishers Vince Burt and Mark Werner who had 37.42. We paid big bass money both days. Saturday it went to Ronnie Manning and Capp Peace who had a 5.59 and on Sunday, Preston Smith and David Horton had a 6.28. Here are full results and pictures

Sunday we fished a much shorter day and it showed more in the results. Here's JT and Bodee with their one from Sunday but it weighed 4.40

[Linked Image]

Paul and Bill weighed three for 5.43 on Sunday, but that was good for seventh place overall and a check

[Linked Image]

Preston Smith and David Horton only had two on Sunday for 7.80

[Linked Image]

However that included the money bass for Sunday, a 6.28 toad!

[Linked Image]

Illustrious Russ and Action Jackson had three for 9.50 that included a 5.45 kicker

Not taking pictures on Sunday but finishing in the money were the following

Sixth place went to Trey Crawford and Kenny Bunch with 20.97

Fifth place went to Jerry Brown and Jason Hunnicutt with 21.23

Their Sunday bag was anchored by a 5.88 and another well over 5 pounds. Their two day total was 37.42

Here are your winners. Chris Atkinson and myself had a fantastic day and weighed a limit for 20.87 that included a 5.23. Our total was 37.98. Margin of victory .56 pounds...

That's a wrap for 2021! Thanks to all my officers for a great year. David Mulkey, Cameron Laing, Shellye Crawford, Paul Spann, David Choate, Stan Browning, James Crawford and Chris Atkinson. We could not do this without your help. Thanks to our members for your participation all year long. Thanks to my friend and partner Chris for the best year of fishing I've ever had. Looking forward to 2022! Our schedule will be posted soon! Hope you come out to see what RHBC is all about next year!

Congratulations! We made a gamble to run south on day 2 and it did not produce the 17 pounds we had found in 3 different spots on Thursday. It was a very fun tournament. Capp and I made a mini vacation out of it and fished hard for 5 days. We ran from one end of the lake to the other. We learned a lot about the characteristics of the lake. Looking forward to another tournament out there! Great job to all! Chris and Tom.... yall did exceptionally well all year and finished it out in style! Our hat's are off to you two! Mark and Vince, congratulations, and you helped show us a clue to the lake that helps us understand it better now. We know where the fish we were catching sporadically were staging when not up feeding.
