What rod are you using for 1.5-2oz rigs? Iā€™m mainly using Megabass and dobyns rods guy but am open to any that would work well. I know some say use a flipping stick but Iā€™d rather have something more designed to an a rig rather than a broomstick with eyes

I use a Doybyns Champion 806CB. I works great and lets them load up on it good. It is also what I use for 10XD sized crankbaits and is paired with a Diawa 150 5.4:1

https://dobynsrods.com/product/dc-806cb/
It looks to be out of stock right now at the warehouse but you might find one at some of the stores around Lake Fork.

The 804c Carolina rod works well for A-rigs up to 1 1/2 oz. too. If you have one of those you might give it a try as well. I still like the 806CB better. Reminds me of the debate over the best chatterbait rod. Some like a jig rod and some like more of a parobolic crankbait rod. I tend to agree on the later.

I've got both the 806 cb and the 806sb I prefer the Swimbaits rod. Both are great rods.

I use the Dobyns Fury 795SB, no problem slinging an a-rig around. Too stiff of a rod and it won't load well, inhibiting distance...it's annoying enough to cast as it is.

Just getting into Arig fishing. Bought the Irod Genius III Bama rig special, 7ā€™10ā€ heavy, fast action, 50 to 70# braid, 1 to 4 ounces lure weight. 149 bucks. Very impressed with this rod so far thumb.
