It finally happened to me. Fished all day running the live scope, and hummingbirds, Engine battery died, Did not help that I left the Night shine lights on the side of boat on all day, (DUMMY) but thinking about one those newer lithium batteries for the engine only. Yall got any input or experience with these high dollar new batteries? Any recommendations are welcome

Haven't tried lithium's yet but plan on it when my X2 ever gives out. Will be going with an Ionic 125ah and their 50ah for the tm.

Ionic's are on sale right now. I bought 3-50ah and 1-125ah. Have not had an issue at all yet.

Lithium's are great,... some prices have come down, I think Ionic has the best warranty of 11 years.

Require a whole lot of luck...

Lithium has no forgiveness...meaning when they go dead, they are done for the day. I would stick with a 31sized AGM battery for your outboard and accessories. I would use lithium for the trolling motor batts, and a seperate 40AH lithium for the livescope. This is how I have mine set up and it works awesome! I bought the 40AH small lithium for livescope on ebay for $125. I just bought two of the CHINS 100AH 12v batts for my lowrance ghost. They are awesome! $350 each, but worth it to me. I kept the 31AGM NAPA battery for my outboard, and it runs 3 graphs and livewells and lights. Doing this it also freed up 130# of weight out of the back of the boat.

I dont have all the fancy stuff but do have a 12 inch mega and 9 inch lowrance.....NO idea how everyone doesnt run an independent battery system just for electronics with all the juice they suck up at a constant rate. People have been doing it for years on TMs....and its not pushed by installers and the companies as much as it should be...but if you got all the bells and whistles...why the hell would you want all that juice being sucked from something like your big motor and can potentially leave you stranded?

Sure lithiums help...but you could easily set up a dedicated set up for your electronics, or even buy that power pole recharging thing that just came out.

in my opinion

Easy fix without breaking the bank. Just add a 12v 50ah lithium dedicated for electronics. Leaves original cranking battery dedicated for starting

If you swap a boat to lithium batteries, do you need a different charger or is it the same type?

It's only a good cast if you catch a fish...

Depends on the charger. Some with agm settings will work such at NOCO and Minn Kota.

I did that and now have the 50ah for sale, I had to go up to a bigger lithium.

The MK precision will work with lithiums, the MK digital will NOT.
