Thinking of going tomorrow to Choke Canyon for some bass fishing. what baits do you all recommend for this time of year?

Fished choke 2 weeks ago, first time in many years. It’s not falcon!!!!! Everything looks exactly the same grass everywhere. Caught 5 all small, 1 on a crank and plastics for the rest. Was not too impressed , definitely not the choke that I used to know . Really pissed about champs skipping falcon and adding choke and Ivie next year . Very poor choices!!!!! Gonna take a whole lot of time to figure that lake out. Good luck let us know how it goes for you

It really has been pretty uneventful since last spring. I keep thinking the fall bite will pick up but it really hasn’t. I wouldn’t travel from Falcon to Choke, that’s for sure!

From what I’ve seen, take your shotgun to kill ducks and skip the bass fishing.

Well just got back to Laredo and yes wife and I got SKUNKED. Lake is very tough. The weather was nice and the lake looked beautiful. But not a single bite. We have been traveling to different lakes and just enjoying the outdoors. Thank God for these days. Well hopefully we will have better luck next time. We love Falcon but got water level is very low right so we will continue traveling. Next time we think Lake Mathis. I know they aren’t many big ones but just being out in the water is fine for us. Till next time

It’s a victim of the Internet bragging and too many bass club tournaments, not enough water in it to sustain the pressure that it received last spring & summer.

My son and I fished Sunday afternoon. It was a beautiful day. Fishing was tough. Only two bass between us. He caught one in the reeds on plastic and I caught mine on a under spin with a swim bait. The grass is beautiful. I think there’s so much hydrilla that the fish have lots places too spread out and we can’t get to. That’s fishing vs catching.
