Several other manufacturers out there as good at less cost. Check the internet. Can't go buy reviews these days, seems like they are all fake. I had the iLife A4. Cost about $150. It worked good when we had shedding dogs on vinyl plank floor. Current dogs down shed. Gave it to my mom. She likes it.

we had one of the off-brand ones that was about $250 it worked really well for about 6 months then it just seemed to run around a little then get stuck or just stop.

We have the basic model and I'm not impressed. I think the effectiveness is really dependent on how your rooms are laid out and how open they are. It can get stuck pretty easily. The small size of the debris chamber or whatever it's called is also limiting. We don't necessarily regret getting ours, but if we could do it all over again we would not get one.
FYI, we have all hardwood/tile floors. Maybe it does better on carpet? I have no carpet. Laminate, hardwood, vinyl plank.
Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

Gonna be our Christmas present to ourselves . . . maybe.
Are these things worth it? Do they do a reliable job. I have some hard surface floors with transition thresholds. Will they cross over these things.
We just want them to do in between vacuuming during the week. Generally we aggressively clean one day on the weekends.
Also, they're multiple models.
What about that?
OT wisdom? Anyone? I worked with the company that designs and builds the BotVac . Designed in Fremont , Calif by Neato Robotics . They have several new products that have come out and the motor drive system is the best in class . Blue tooth and Wifi . Keeping the " bag" clean is key to all these types of machines cleaning effectively . Cool technology for sure .

Shark AV1002AE IQ XL self empty. Very impressed. You can program No Go Zones. Cleans, empties and returns to where it left off. Brush never wraps with dog hair like our Dyson. Got a Husky that sheds like crazy.

I swear my wife deliberately programmed them to stagger, so once a day for three consecutive hours I am to be found in the barn or out running fences or checking cattle.

We are on our 2nd one. I don't remember the exact model but it was an iRobot, it worked well for several years. Earlier this year we upgraded to the Roomba i6+ that has the self empty feature. Between the wife and dog shedding, it does a good job. We run it several times of week. I don't have any buyer's remorse.
