Mustad's J-Hooks Are DEADLY!

If i targeting certain species to give away or to take home i prefer Mustad's J-Hooks. For hooking fish whipping (spin casting) or dunking (shoreline bait casting) it's my go to hook. If i want to release fish but want to fish i use circle hooks. For trophy shoreline species i still use circle hooks because they will lock into the corners lodging itself into the jaw bone.

This lock-up is strong but you can still release the fish as it usually doesn't tear-up the meat. Even catch & release tournaments require using only circle hooks. If you use J-shaped hooks and see blood streaming from the puncture that fish may not survive being released.

I only use Mustad brand of J-Hooks. I've faith in the oldest hook manufacturer in the World.
