I haven't fished PK in two weeks. Been busy in the metroplex with my band and my freezer is full of fish. My advise would be to pm one of the guides that fish up there like Randy Wood or Dean Heffner. They could give you some tips.
All that said, there's almost no shad down lake so if I were going this week or weekend, I would focus around Costello Island. There's always shad up lake as they can run up the river if the water gets too cold. This has been a pretty good striper year at PK. There are lots of stripers in the 18-20 inch range due to the natural spawn from the floods. The guys I know at the hatchery say they are not stocking stripers in PK now, as the lake has plenty.

Caught 55 Sand bass and Ten stripers last week mid lake. Fish were caught on jigs and slabs with flies tied above. Birds will show the way early but after that use your electronics to to find fish. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2021/11/full-2568-118657-d4f1df90_38d1_4ce4_9ecf_0879a717a70f.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2021/11/full-2568-118658-5653be26_b1d4_471a_97f7_99754da547e3.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2021/11/full-2568-118659-d7a6f152_0952_4f33_a0cd_aece73d0dd3e.jpeg) Caught porky here stealing corn. Randy can always catch them. I fished Saturday down lake and it was pretty slow.
Glad you got that pig Randy. Only a couple million to go. Saw some by the pecan trees on 16 on the way to the lake right after the old Joes bait and tackle. A dead one was on the right side of the road that I am sure ruined someone's day. The fear of pigs kept me from fishing mid lake, as I knew I would be hauling my boat back in the evening when they are out along the road. I don't want to find out what my subaru outback will do when it runs over a 400 lb hog while pulling a boat. I think it wont be pretty.
