Anybody know of when or if the dam on Lake Placid is going to be repaired? After the property owners vote themselves a tax to give to GBRA.

Do not be surprised if anything is done to repair the dam. The way the economy is going right now money/finances are going to play a huge factor the next couple of years. Just my two cents.

I'm sure there is grant money out there to repair the dams. But GBRA doesn't want any outside agencies involved because they wouldn't get the "Cadillac" gates they want. This new infrastructure legislation probably has money available just for the asking.

The people I know that live on Placid and near Placid have said it is going to be a long time if anything is going to get done as for repairing the dam. I think the plan that the people of Lake Dunlap came up with is the plan that the residences of Lake Placid will try to follow. Just my two cents. Will have to wait and see. Side Note: A lot of very GOOD crappie and sunfish places were destroyed due to the dam breaks on both Dunlap and Placid!
