Just received a new Power Tackle composite cranker 7’3” rod as a gift and now need a reel. It’s been awhile since I’ve looked at baitcasting reels. I’m more familiar with spinning reels.
Need some suggestions on baitcasting reel for fishing spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, square bills.
I would prefer to stay in $150 — $200 range and $250 probably my upper limit..

Diawa Tatula SV 6.8:1 or 7.3:1...it's a great reel for what you have above.

Tatula SV is what I utilize for my square bills. I'm a fan of 1.5 size therefore you need an sv style reel to help cast and get distance even in the wind.

What is your budget?? I would opt for a 2020 Metanium 150 B HG. But if that is too rich for your blood then I would grab a Curado 200 or Curado 150 MGL if you can find one.

2000 Scorpion Metanium MG's used out of Japan for about $100. I just bought 2 more. They have a few more right handers. I buy lefties.

Tatula SV is what I utilize for my square bills. I'm a fan of 1.5 size therefore you need an sv style reel to help cast and get distance even in the wind. The Daiwa Tatula CT works very well for crank baits also, including square bills.
