Spooling up some 10# Sunline Sniper and thinks coiled up tight coming off the brand new spool! So much so that if I flip the bail on the spinning reel and dont have tension on the line itll jump off the spool in curls.
Ive seen this before.....on old line ive left on the spool for a long time unused! Never on a new spool. Super surprised to see it. Anyone see this in any sunline recently?

Only time I've seen this is....
1) I spooled the line incorrectly and it caused line twists 2) I had too much line on the spool and it couldn't sit on the spool correctly
Honestly, I very rarely have issues with Sunline.

Like said above. But I personally don’t like my spinning reel full of just fluorocarbon . I fill with braid then use a leader less worries and cast better. Imo

Honestly, I very rarely have issues with Sunline. ^Agree with Above^ Have nothing on the end of your line and let it trail out in the water as you troll out in a boat. When you get half or 3/4 of the spool behind you just reel it back in between your fingers to remove twist. The other thing that can be an issue is the line size is too large for the spool. The only spool size where 10 lb is marginally too large would be on a 100/1000 series spool.

He had spool sitting in a tub of water and maybe ill try that. Done with this spool for now. Ill take it with me tomorrow and if I get the twists Ill do exactly what you said. Thanks! Doing the same thing ive always done so not sure what different this time. My wheels just started turning because I couldve sworn I remember seagur red label or invizx pumping out some bad batches of line. Wondering if that mightve been the case since ive never had an issue with Sniper. Im a big sunline guy too, huge fan of assassin...so im real surprised

Sniper don't play well on spinning reels, Invizx works a little better.

Like said above. But I personally don’t like my spinning reel full of just fluorocarbon . I fill with braid then use a leader less worries and cast better. Imo Do this on your spinning reel.

Same can be accomplished on land if necessary. Go to the park. Tie on a swivel and hook the swivel to a fence or something. Walk away from your swivel keeping a light tension on your line. Hundred or so yards should be fine.
