I think this article is pretty accurate. Bass certainly seem to be more wary than sunfish (yes I know technically they are a sunfish), at least bigger ones often are. It's interesting that fake worms continue to fool them, that explains why so many people here catch bass with them. https://www.sun-sentinel.com/news/fl-xpm-1986-09-29-8602270802-story.html
