$532k sounds like a tidy profit until you factor in expenses: live streaming and camera men are expensive! Besides Luke Dunkin gotta eat too and oh yeah, Fat Cat really gotta eat!

And insurance, which is never cheap.

And it’s a business….which means Uncle Sam took a big chunk in taxes as well.

How much does Sam charge for losses?

Would insurance be a huge cost to run a tournament? Everybody signs a liability release and carry their own liability insurance?

Insurance is always required.

I’m thrilled to hear Dunkin got fired, I posted that I hope he gets fired on his YouTube when he ripped on Rob T.

His contract expired and he hasn't signed his 2022 contract yet is what he said

Don't think he got fired

That’s a shame, he deserved it.

It's a shame it was derailed, I wonder who is the sponsor that pulled out on them last minute? It was kind of cool to see guys fishing for $50K that looked a lot like me.

Balding, a little round in the mid section and stressed, lol.

As someone who fished it & made the championship I’d say it was far from a failure. Everyone who made it has been or will be compensated 10k. I will be fishing it again next season as well. I don’t think they will have a hard time filling the 125 boat field to start the season even with this championship hiccup.

Not to beat a dead horse, they didn't even get close to a 125 full field last year, much less after this hiccup. It was definitely a failure, spin it anyway you want... And I for one don't believe some of the information they put out, like a new investor has come on board. If a "new" investor came onboard wouldn't they be willing to invest in the Championship? Seems fishy... JMO

Well the anglers opinions are what really matters! Congratulations on making the championship even if it was cancelled. As a viewer I hope they all succeed but I would still argue that cancelling the championship on such short notice was not their ultimate goal which makes it in some part a failure. Best of luck next year and hope we get to see you on the tube! cheers

Glad to hear that they took care of the anglers that made the championship financially. I think that will help. I get a sense that there are alot of pros from both of the major tours that are rooting for the NPFL to be a success. I think it will take some of those guys stepping up and fishing the NPFL for it to succeed. I'm skeptical that will happen next year after this mess. They better have the resources now to actually to complete a schedule in 2022 with the anglers they have now. If they do that I suspect they may get some bigger names in 2023.

From a personal standpoint I love that the NPFL schedule covers the entire year. You have to be a well rounded angler to win an AOY with a schedule like that. I wish the other tours would do the same instead of just chasing the spawn.

Bass tournaments are like poker tournaments, without entry fees, they would not exist. Only thing sponsor money does is pay the trail's expenses and go to the bottom line of the business.

Until there is a way to stop just fishing for only each others entry fees, there will never truly be a way for more than a handful of the top of the top to make a living tournament fishing.

I’m confused.. the put their schedule out today for 2022. But people on here are saying they folded? For those who said they folded, where are you getting your info from?
