I bought some replacement brake collars for my old green Curado and old Citicas (CU-200 and CI-200). Do i just ‘pop off’ the old ones by pushing them towards the edge then pressing on the old ones? Thats my initial thought but wanting to make sure.

One more question i’ve wondered about for a while. On the Shimano braking system, do the brakes have to be activated in pairs, directly across from one another, or can i just have one brake on? I’m thinking someone told me pairs but i don’t know if that’s accurate.

Just pull the old ones off and slide the new ones on. You can have as many pins on or off as you like to suit your casting needs. they don't have to be set in pairs or even across from one another.

to really fine tune a collar, i file it at and angle so that when it makes contact with outer ring, only half the collar is rubbing, reducing the amount of drag by half. sometimes for me i just need a scoch more or less drag. my buddy says he can't tell the difference, seems to help me.

Thanks all. I got these in and it was a quick switch out from the old to the new. Curado's good to go for another 20 plus years!
