Hit stump with my Mega 360 and broke the transducer off the shaft. Have to send in to Humminbird to fix. Does anyone know of a solution to help against this happening? It seems like a break away mount would be a great idea.

What did the stump look like that close up on the display?

To the OP...I have not heard of a breakaway shaft or head for the 360 (man this sounds perverse)...but I have heard similar stories to yours. So if you're mechanically inclined, you may have a $1M idea.

Are you running the factory mounting setup or an aftermarket one with a stabilizer? I've been told that if you run a stabilizer that the shaft is much more likely to break if you hit something. Mine is factory and I have not had any issues other that the fact that the pod got loose and had to be retightened.

It has enough flex that it shouldn’t break if you square up on a stump, by design?

Everything has limits but that is what I have been told by several Humminbird reps.
