Interesting & good news ( I guess ) on Texas lake's grass except hydrilla is still classified as "a prohibitive exotic species" and excluded from study. News article mentions hydrilla like 12 times and each other grass like once.

Don't tell homeowners at Cypress Springs. They will drive to Toledo Bend and kill the grass there, too...just in case.

Pat, I’d like to solve the puzzle… overspraying the bejesus out of all the creeks due to giant salvinia.

Really kind of funny they actually wonder why the hydrilla is gone and not coming back. There’s knocking it back and there’s full eradication, once it’s completely dead and gone it takes reintroducing the plant to the area, which for hydrilla is illegal. Tbend had probably the worst of the worst people spraying, we saw them point blank spraying hay grass… they tried real hard to kill all of that off too when they were supposed to be only spraying salvinia.

In the November Lake Caster there is an article on why there is no grass on Toledo Bend and there is no mention of spraying all of the grass. It's like they don't even know what they did. Like a mule with blinders on !

Never test the depth of the water with both feet.

There’s one thing I have noticed negative about TPWD they don’t like any kind of vegetation in any lakes.

The spraying kills it, period. If you've ever been back to an area that was sprayed you will see. Maybe it's lack of over sight and contractors just trying to burn thru as much chemical as possible but either way, it dies. My opinion is there shouldn't be any chemicals being sprayed in our waters, period. Maybe a few grass carp or boats that can scrape it out. The problem seems to point to things being way over done. Putting way to many carp in a lake, spraying way to much, etc.
