I went out for a couple hours yesterday afternoon. Just a few scattered fish in Key Ranch North. I moved to Key Ranch Drop Off and noted a few more fish in 15' - 17'. I got a few on Mepps #4. The fish were actively moving around. I would pick up one or two and they were gone. After a while they would make a pass through and I would pick up one or two. I then looked around A Frame but didn't see anything to get excited about. I ran up to Spillway Hump and found a good concentration of active fish on the NE corner. They were in 15' on the edge of the sharp drop off. I motored south starting in 25' and as the depth rose to 15' they were stacked. I went a bit further and spot locked and it was game on. I stayed until I hit a count of 25 and then I had to head in because a contractor was coming to the house. All fish were caught on a Mepps #4. I tried the #2 a few times but had no success. Almost all of the fish I caught were magnums.

Thanks for the report. I was out a couple of times for short periods and found good concentrations at Drew's Hump (north), Saint Annes East, and Flag Pole Point. Could catch them on either #2 or #4 Mepps.

11/13/2021: Put my boat back in Cedar Creek Lake after a Texoma trip, and, of course, had to fish some. I started at 11:30 AM and caught 14 just out from the ramp at Flagpole Point. Friend Paul called me as I was getting ready to move and I picked him up at my dock. We caught some at Long Ridge, checked out Mid-lake Hump (nothing), caught some at Key Ranch Drop-off, then headed to Spillway Hump, where we stayed until we went in. We found good concentrations of fish on the western fork of Mid-lake and sat there until our white bass count got up to 101. That was 3 PM. Most of the white bass there were 13 to 15-inch fish. We also caught a nice crappie, a 26-inch blue cat, a 21.5-inch hybrid, 4 more cats, and 3 keeper yellow bass for a total count of 111 fish. Most of our fish were caught on a silver #4 Mepps, but we also caught several on a #2 Mepps. I tried the white glow Mepps I had used successfully at Texoma for stripers, but the white bass did not care for it. Here are pics from yesterday:

I took a neighbor out to fish from noon to 2:15. We fished Spillway hump. It was fairly productive mostly on the west side. I dropped my neighbor off at his dock and then headed back out. I found a huge school of fish on the north side of Merimac hump. I stayed there until 4:30. Caught 60 whites and most were magnums. It was good seeing you Dennis.

Rick, same here. I should have added that I saw you pulling them in with the #4 Mepps every cast.

I was out on CC from about noon to 3 PM. I found and caught fish at Pitts Point in 19 fow on top of the roadbed there, at the north Drew's Hump in 15 fow, at Long Ridge West in 23 fow, and at Doll-house Point in 14 fow. Ended up with 45 sandies, a 14-inch crappie, and a 23-inch hybrid. The sandies liked either a #2 or #4 silver Mepps. The hybrid took a white, glow #4 Mepps with yellow edges on the blade.

I went out yesterday from 12:15 to 3:00. Let's just say it was a bit choppy so I did not venture very far. I went to Merimac hump and caught 30 sand bass using Mepps #4. The fish were in 15 to 17 FOW and the water temp was 61.2. I had to keep moving. I would pick up 2 or 3 and then have to find them again. I caught fish all around the hump with the exception of the NW corner. You could see shad in 13 to 15 FOW. It was a lot of work but it was fun getting your string stretched. You all have a Happy Thanksgiving!

11/22 to 11/29: I took an 82-year-old couple from my church out fishing the afternoon of 11/22 and introduced them to white bass fishing. They were interested in fishing but inexperienced regarding casting with rods and reels. I set them up with spin-cast rigs and #4 Mepps. We found fish at several locations, but they had trouble casting and reeling in. I finally found fish in 20 fow, and we set up over them. The lady caught one on her own and reeled in two that I hooked on her line. The man caught about 6 on his own. We had a total of 36 and kept them for eating.

The next day I took my sister's 18 yr-old grandson Christian out with his friend Nicholas, a freshman at the Citadel. I showed them how to use casting reels, and they stuck with it, and we ended up with 65 fish. We did the best at Spillway Hump and Game Warden Hump using #4 Mepps. There are pictures of them below.

On the 29th, friend Cliffshot and I spent the day on the lake and managed to catch 106: 100 whites, 2 crappie, a 21.5-inch hybrid, a cat, and 2 yellow bass. We checked a lot of spots to find biting fish. We did best at Game Warden Hump, Dollhouse Point, and the A-Frame. Fish were in 12 to 18 fow. Fish were finicky, and we caught about half on a #2 and half on a #4. Both had to be worked slowly up off the bottom. Pics below:

I got out about 1:00 yesterday afternoon. Caught 1 at mid lake hump, 2 at Merimac hump and 22 at Spillway humps. Spillway hump had by far the highest concentration of fish between 13 and 15 FOW. Caught all of them on Mepps #4.
