After taking a beating on Saturday afternoon, was hoping some wind and good luck would show up on Cedar Creek Sunday morning.

Found some good bait early, and went looking for fish. Started in river channel in about 32'. Marked lot of bait and some fish, and put out all big baits on big hooks... go big or go home. Hour later, was still marking fish, still marking bait, but had not put anything in the boat. Had several nibbles - sure little fish too small to get hooks in their mouth, but no good takedowns.

Another half hour and on small eater in the boat. Another hour and finally got a good take down on a big 10" gizzard head half bait. 12.8 lbs in the boat.

Fished from 32' up to about 5'. Never got them biting good. Very slow. Most of the fish were out in 25-32'. Water temps were 63-65.

Fished from daylight until about noon, and had enough. Couple of small eaters and the 12 lb fish. Add that to the 3 eaters yesterday, and 10-12 hours of fishing did not yield much.

BUT - was a pretty day, and relaxing. God is good.

Hope some of you did better than I did.

Sounds like what everybody else was saying. You were blessed to get that 12 Ken. Glad you got out on the water and enjoyed the weekend.

Neat post. Tough days of fishing make the good days a whole lot better! thumb

Same here buddy, probably the worst day of fishing I have had in a while. Caught one dink (about a pound) and one that went about 3 lbs. Marked some good fish, but couldn't buy a bite on them, and no bait anywhere near the fish. Like they were on a hunger strike.
