A fun part of fishing a new creek or pond (new to us) is to try and find out how old the pond is or the age of a creek and whether it's spring fed or runoff fed. Online topo maps are easy to view/find and google maps have fairly current map data to reference. I know it sounds nerdy but the older to pond the more possible interest that it has a good established population. Now even old ponds can be drained while development is done in a area, then a newer dam is used to refill so the age of the buildings around it can tell you a lot too. So we found a old pond and this is what we found. Oldest map we could find it on is 1960. Also we caught a surprise species. To be honest I didn't caught the surprise species, my buddy Doc landed it. See if you can spot the odd man out.
