I’m looking at a 2021 21trx with 250 pro xs. What prop are you guys running?

 I just got a Merc 200HP 4 stroke, and it came with a 22P, I asked the dealer if the motor was strong enough to turn a 25P like I had on my 250 ProXS two-stroke that I traded in (I down sized boats and 200 was max), and he said the 200 and below come wit a 22P, and the 250+ four strokes come with a 23P...he said Merc wants them to run at the max WOT RPM’s...called Merc and the dude couldn’t veer off his script of the same story...I said as long as I stay in the mid to upper part of the range I could turn a higher pitch, he said they don’t recommend it... lol

I'm reading from various sources that 22-23 pitch is getting the 200's up to the recommended WOT RPM's with 23-24 pitch for the 250's depending on prop blade #, design, boat, loading etc. Steve at Steve's Custom Props in Quitmann is a forum favorite and seems to be able to answer any question I've had on props for many years and could give you sound quick guidance.

23 pitch fury on 250 pro xs 4 strk This is what I have, runs 70, with 450lbs of men, 60 gallons of fuel and everything else. Nitro z21

LOL now that is funny... first i didn't call them just to snicker at them, I had questions that I wanted to get answered because this was my first 4 stroke... and to put your mind at ease I'm running a 23P until the motors fully broken in - following manufactures break in procedures, because they do have have a clue right... LOL... how you invented the manufacture has no clue what best for me, and I'm going to do what ever I want out of thin air is hilarious... sorry OP didn't mean to jack your thread...I hope you get your answers...

I call Steve’s prop shop and they told me to stay with the 23p. Thanks guys for y’all’s advice. I thought that was small but he said the same thing

I’m looking at a 2021 21trx with 250 pro xs. What prop are you guys running? I have that same boat with a 300XS, running a Fury 26, if I were you I would get me a 24 Fury 3 blade.

I have a 25p fury on my 250 xs on my z20 and love it
When I am not fishing I am thinking about fishing. And mostly what I should have done differently my last trip!

I run a 23p on my Champion 206 w/ 250 4 Stroke. I can turn a 24p tempest plus in the winter months
