Equity is holding all people to the same standard without looking at race, color, creed, religion or if they are a sparkle fresh no gender unicorn.

What they are doing is trying to force equity of outcome. Allow people to get away with certain "minor" violations... dumbest thing I have ever heard.

All these equity experiments and defund movements labor under the misconception that all people will do the right thing. I think Portland or even Austin is a prime example. There will always be a group of people that will take advantage of a situation if not held accountable.

So how do we force people to make their cars operational? If lights are there for safety but nobody is enforcing them being operational then the requirement doesn't really exist....

The proliferation of pure stupidity is a big part of the left's "progress" in the 21st century.

Take a look at a drive down one of Philadelphia's streets. Zombie crackheads, filth and destruction. Typical of any democrat city, USA. This is eye opening and they want to even further let it disintegrate. Good for the voters then. Let them live in it.

I'm not surprised. I do believe a community should agree with the way law enforcement does the job. If this is how the community wishes to be policed then so be it.
