Still a few blue Marlin being caught from the Horse shoe to the 1150 on lures and bait, most fish 150lb to 200lb also a few sailfish around. We caught and released an 180lb blue marlin on Thursday.
The striped marlin should start showing up in a couple of weeks when the water temps cool down.

The dorado is still the happening fishing from the Lighthouse to Los Arcos, most fishing on lures and ballyhoo, few on live bait, fishing from 1/4 mile off shore to 1 mile.

No reports.

No repors.

We caught a 15lb rooster yesterday.

Few small roosters this week and small grouper and triggerfish.

See you all in Cabo - JC.

Jc’s Sportfishing Charters is a family owned and operated business and has been fishing in Cabo San Lucas for the past 18 years. Jerry, explains that his charter business is geared more for families and novice anglers, making sure everyone who charters a boat with him have a great time and lots of fun. We welcome families, and groups. We want everyone who fishes with us to take all the sites in and have a memorable experience. This is what is most important to us. We have and do a few tournaments each year and can cater to fisherman who might be interested in tournament fishing. Well let’s get on with the fishing report for this past week.

WEATHER: For Cabo San Lucas in the coming two weeks the average daytime maximum temperature will be around 32°C, with a high for the two weeks of 34°C expected on the afternoon of Monday 8th. The mean minimum temperature will be 22°C, dipping to its lowest on the morning of Thursday 4th at 21°C. The fortnight ahead will remain predominantly dry. On the whole winds are likely to be moderate.

From The Admiral Kitchen!
Brazilian fish stew – moqueca
A simple Brazilian Fish Stew called Moqueca made with your choice of fish and simmered in coconut milk with onion, tomatoes, chilies and lime. Easy, fast and full of flavor! Serve this with rice!

- 1 – 1 1/2 pounds firm white fish- Halibut, Black Cod, Sea Bass ( thicker cuts are best)
- ½ teaspoon salt
- one lime- zest and juice

Stew/ Sauce:

- 2–3 tablespoons coconut or olive oil (or use Dende – Brazillian Red Palm oil for the best flavor!)
- 1 onion- finely diced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup carrot, diced
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 4 garlic cloves- rough chopped
- 1/2 jalapeno, finely diced
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 cup fish or chicken stock
- 1 1/2 cups tomatoes, diced ( preferably fresh)
- 1 14 ounce can coconut milk ( liquid and solids)
- more salt to taste
- ½ cup chopped cilantro, scallions or Italian parsley
- squeeze of lime

Rinse and pat dry the fish and cut into 2 inch peices. Place in a bowl. Add salt, zest from half the lime and 1 tablespoon lime juice. Massage lightly to coat all pieces well. Set aside.

In a large sauce pan, heat the olive oil over medium high heat. Add onion and salt, and sauté 2-3 minutes. Turn heat down to medium, add carrot, bell pepper, garlic and jalapeno and cook 4-5 more minutes. Add tomato paste, spices and stock. Mix and bring to a simmer and add tomatoes. Cover and simmer gently on medium low for 5 mintues or until carrots are tender.

Add the coconut milk and taste and add more salt if necessary. Nestle the fish in the Pan and simmer gently until it’s cooked through, about 4-6 minutes. Spoon the flavorful coconut broth over the fish and cook until desired doneness or longer for thicker pieces. ( You can also finish this in a 350F oven).
Taste and adjust salt and squeeze with lime.

To serve, serve over rice, sprinkle with cilantro or scallions and a squeeze of lime.
Drizzle with a little olive oil if you like.

Notes: Serve with rice or crusty bread to mop up all the juices.

Summer Punch
A simple, refreshing drink that's perfect for a summery gathering. For an extra-special twist, swap the sparkling water for champagne.

- 125ml lemon juice
- 50g caster sugar
- 250ml elderflower liqueur (we used St Germain)
- 250ml vodka
- 500ml apple juice (Bradley is best if you like it sharp)
- 125ml sparkling water
- ice
- fresh summer herbs like lemon verbena, mint and basil (optional)
- lemon slices (optional).

In a bowl, mix the lemon juice and sugar until the sugar dissolves. Transfer into a large serving bowl, add the other liquid ingredients, fill to the top with ice and stir gently. Serve immediately, with herbs and lemon slices, if you like.

BEWARE: Please beware of the guys in the street selling boat charters. If you wait till the day you are fishing and go to the dock where your boat is many times people will mislead you to another boat or dock trying to put you on a boat that was not meant for you. You need to have a person guide you to your boat, who is from a reputable charter company. This way there is no confusion or misleading. Please remember when renting Sport fishing boats in Cabo that you rent your boat from reputable and established business. Walk into a fishing fleet office and ask questions about what you are getting and what are the costs. You don't want to rent boats from vendors in the streets and you do not want to book through shady websites offering you the world. Check through travel forums about reputable fishing fleets to deal with. Look for testimonials about the fleet your booking, your charter with. Ask about what will the boat be supplying? Will it include beverages or lunches? How much does it cost to fillet your catch? Check to see if charter boat is insured? Ask about getting your catch smoked? Check cost of a fishing license. These are just a few things to consider when booking your charter boat. We will be talking more about this in the next weeks fishing report. Until next time good fishing and we hope to see you in Cabo soon. Come by the office here in Cabo and get all the latest up to date fishing report.
