I was considering buying one of those expandable garden hoses to keep in my tool box for road trips when I need to flush the boat motor. Has anyone used these for flushing an outboard? I have seen most of them have a pressure valve at the end so the water comes out at a higher pressure. Not sure if this would make it a good choice for a motor flush.

I have one. It doesn't put out enough water to cool my outboard on muffs. The inner diameter is smaller than a normal garden hose (at least on mine). You'll get pressure but only after the hose has expanded to it's maximum and the pressure equilibrates between the water and the elastic on the hose. Then you'll have plenty pressure, but not enough volume.

This could be different depending on what brand hose you go with.
