So I'm posting this to maybe help someone else. Last several times we've gone out, lots of water draining out of the boat. I was getting a water alarm but the pisser was working well. But the pressure guage wasn't. Thinking I had a hole in the boat I sat it on the trailer thinking how I was going to figure that out. I continued to hook it up and run it to keep the engine clean. I started noticing water dripping out of the right drain for about three weeks. I finally stick my finger in the hole and about five gallons of fresh water came out. Today, I crank the motor and shut it off and water ran out the drain. What the? How does water get in the boat from the motor? The clues are there. What do you think?

Do you have a water pressure gauge? If so betting the hose is broken or came off the gauge.

Must be an Inboard with faulty line

It's an outboard. The line is in place on the dash guage and on the motor. The line runs from the motor and under the deck and comes up into the console to the guage. Guage does not work. I cleaned the motor end and checked the electrical connections at the console. All good. Figure it's beyond me. And then I see a sliver of water running out the drain after I killed the motor. I think tmd nailed it. It's a broken line under the deck.

I'll run a new line above deck to be sure. This motor has been a chore. Never let one sit up.

Disconnect and plug the fitting on the motor for the water line. With an outboard thats the only place water can get in the hull when running off a hose. Only other place is speedometer hose off the lower unit and it wont leak unless boats in the water and moving.

No speedo. Tach only. It all makes sense now. Glad to know too. My brother hit something hard and knocked a hole in the boat coming out of the ICW and going toward Dagger. You have to go wide there, and he didn't. He pulled the floor at the cracked spot and patched from the inside. (Older boat, so we do our own work on it) It was a good patch, but that's where I was going to look first. It would require lifting the boat off of the trailer. So it's bad that the boat was filling with water, but it's good to know there's not a hole. I've been thinking about running an air line into the drains and see if I can get enough air circulating to help dry things out. It's been flushed pretty well with fresh water lol.

I've had the line blow off the back of the water pressure gauge while running down the lake. It will get you wet in a hurry.

Yes sir. When my wife and I go out, we usually drift Steadmans, then cross to Brown and Root, and then to Dagger area. Quite a few miles. Every time we cranked or ran, the boat was filling up with water. I'd pull the plugs and five gallons would run out. All from a little pressure guage line.

Finally figured out a plug thread count and plugged the outlet to the pressure guage. That fixed the water in the hull problem.
