Why don’t I hear more about Toledo Bend striper fishing? It’s supposed to be full of big striper. Isn’t that where TPWD gets the striper to breed hybrid striper? Any suggestions on a guide I could take a trip?

You might look into one of the marinas or the many chambers of commerce for a guide. Have not heard Stripers from Toledo Bend being used for said Hybrid production just Livingston.

East Texans don't care about anything but ditch pickles so palmetto and striper are not stocked in lakes out here. Very unfortunate for me. I believe Toledo bend was stocked at one point but the population died out long ago as they cannot naturally reproduce in that lake.

TPWD makes stripers and hybrids from tanks they have at PK. They actually keep big stripers in a tank. The do tours and you can see them. I would not have believed it possible if I did not see it for myself. They actually feed them pellets. The guy doing the tour told me they put some shad in the tank and the stripers would not eat them, as they were used to eating pellets.

John 21:3 Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee.

Isn’t that where TPWD gets the striper to breed hybrid striper? No it is not. Most of those come from below the dam on Lake Livingston.

Any suggestions on a guide I could take a trip? You might want to look elsewhere other than TB for Stripers...just saying.
