Fishing on both is great right now! Fish are fattening up for winter and are getting aggressive! Last week we fished the Texas State Crappie Championship on LOP. While we caught alot of fish we never found the fish we needed to complete so being in 2nd place after day 1 we were kinda surprised. Day 2 was more like prefishing and we couldn't run into any good fish and I don't feel like we had a kicker either day. Lot's of 1.5s and 1.6s which are great fish but won't land you a spot on the leader board! Congrats to Clint and Dillon for leading it wire to wire and by good buddies Marty and Drew for giving them one heck of a run and missing out on the top spot by .03 of a pound! We caught fish on Pines anywhere from 9-29ft of water using 1/8 and 1/4 oz jigs in shad and purple and chart. Most the fish were 9-18' down for us. Minnows didn't seem to help us at all. We had some but didn't use many. We finished 4th and had 2 great days slinging slabs in the boat!

Fork is fishing good also! I had Jason bring his son out on a trip! They usually fish the slips at Lewisville and said keepers were hard to come by! They were amazed at the size of the Lake Fork Crappie! We used the same jigs for LOP at Fork but did tip with minnows. I don't think it would have mattered as they caught several without minnows but if it helps get a few more bites or get the fish to hold onto the bait a split second longer I'm good with paying $9 for 1/2 pound. Fork we fished 14-18' and most the fish were on the bottom.

I have some dates in Nov and Dec left open. I'm going to hunt more this fall with my son so not doing as many trips but I can get you to some great folks if I'm booked! If somebody has some good private duck hunting or saltwater fishing to trade give me a shout! Little man loves bird hunting as much as his dad! I have Nov 2-3, 9, 12, 14th (only weekend date I have), 16th. 30th. December I have the first couple week days and some days the middle of the month left. Last year November was great on LOP and the weather cooperates! Later in the year the wind gets you more and more! Last January I had 12 trips booked on LOP and I fished twice! Something to consider!

Wrapped up a great tournament season this weekend and start back again in January! I think we fished 8-9 national tourneys this year and had 4 top 10's. We're planning on 13-14 next year! I love the competition and challenge of tournament crappie fishing and the high's and low's that come with it! If your looking to become a better crappie angler find a club near you and get in with them. You will learn more in a year of tournament fishing that you will in 10 years on your own IMO! Thanks to all the great partners that make this possible for us! Looking forward to representing you next year and hopefully bringing home more hardware!

Thanks again!

Think we make all of ACT except the Alabama river and crappie masters were split on St John’s River! Man that’s a long ways to go to chase black crappie!! Plus throw the Expo in there Oct 20-22 and Crappie USA has a tourney on Fork in Nov. Gonna be a busy year! thumb

Todd and Aaron made it out to Fork with me this week and they had a solid table of fish as well. They’re in transition so we’re covering alot of water to put together a box of fish but getting it done! Some fish over 2 pounds and they left with 2 solid gallon bags of fillets! 11’ Jenko Kevin Rogers rods and Slab asyndicste hand ties put em in the boat! Thanks again guys. Looking forward to the next one! I have some days left in Nov and Dec if y’all wanna stock the freezer! I’m honestly surprised I don’t have more trips on Pines! I’m chomping at the bit to get back over there! Last Nov there was awesome! [Linked Image]

Thanks buddy! Fall fishing is great! They’re aggressive and putting on weight. Wind is your biggest enemy this time of year, but if your looking to stock the freezer now is the time! I have some November and Dec dates available! Tourney season cranks back up in January!
