Earlier in the week I got an invite from DC to fish on his boat and then the next day got an invite to fish with ScottyP cuz Scotty needed a big sandy meat haul for big fish fry. So I countered offered them both to join me on my boat for Tawakoni instead and they did. 😊

DC and Larry joined me at 10am at the ramp and we headed straight to the “Sandbass capital” GPS (Greenville pump station). Graph was loaded as usual there (see SI graph below right side). We caught our 3 man limits and count got up to 100+ by 1230pm and we took break and ate yummy sandwiches (made by Bev’s) while waiting for ScottyP to show up at 1pm. At GPS we started out catching some on Mepps #4 but they shut down so we dropped #2 instead and slow retrieve worked best at GPS, where DC boated a good sandy almost every cast, me every 2 or 3 casts, Larry was being Larry until he switched to #2.

We picked up ScottyP at 1 ish and headed straight down to Wolf’s (Striper Alley) for Bigs. First cast on the ARig “BAM” Larry got a 25# striper in pic below. Then all of us caught good fish but they moved a lot so we moved to keep up with them. We caught most of our big fish at Wolf with 3 overs and lots of magnum sandies. DC caught 2 legal hybrids and a few shorts on #4 and #2 I think. The rest threw mostly Arigs and caught good sandies and short hybrids. I had a good drag peeler on my Arig but it shook off after 5 seconds DOH!

We then went to “white stripe” down by the dam and ScottyP caught a good striper on the Bovee’s spinner (see pic below) and some more whites. Then to the propeller and we caught more whites and few short hybrids. Then caught a few at Sun and then finished the day off at Cloud where I caught a combo, huge hibbie and sandie, on the Arig (see pic below).

Overall counts from DC’s:
221 total. 208 whites, 2 stripers, 3 hybrids, 4 short hybrids, 3 yellows and a kitty.

Catching depth 10 to 18 FOW.
