Funny how it works. I have never known a single person that has won a lottery, but I have known a lot of people who claim to know someone who has won.

Funny how it works. I have never known a single person that has won a lottery, but I have known a lot of people who claim to know someone who has won. Milgram’s Small-World Experiment"In the 1960s, psychologist Stanley Milgram conducted the “small-world experiment” to research how closely people are connected. He sent letters to 160 people in Nebraska, giving them the name and address of a stockbroker in Boston and instructing them to write their name on the letter and then send it to a friend or acquaintance who might get the letter one step closer to that stockbroker. Each person who received the chain letter would do the same, until a friend or acquaintance of the stockbroker finally received it and would send it directly to him. At the end of Milgram’s small-world experiment, Milgram found that most of the letters reached the stockbroker in five or six steps, creating the concept that people all over the world are all connected by six degrees of separation."

A guy that my sister worked with won $12MM while traveling for work out of state. He worked for like 6 months after getting everything in order then retired. He was around 30 years old. Wonder how it's going for him nowadays. Winning the lottery ruins a lot of peoples lives. I wonder what the percentage really is. You only hear about the ones that go bad. I would imagine it also has to do with the demographic that typically plays the lotto. It’s generally seen as a tax on the poor. So people who play and win may have not been the best with finances in the first place. The couple we knew won the Texas Lotto. They both kept working. He owned his own business and she kept her job. He passed away of natural causes and she is still alive. If you did not know they had won, you could not tell it. They never changed their lifestyles, or personalities. She is still on of the most sweetest and kindest person we know. The wife's aunt and uncle won part of the Illinois lottery. They built a nicer house, but did not flaunt their money. Years later they passed away from natural causes. They were great people that we enjoyed visiting with.

We won 10k in a office pool, got 329 a piece, settling that up was a pain
call it what you will...he is not definitely not anywhere near the top of the list for QB's that I would choose needing a FG or touchdown drive late in the game.

Me, sort of. I run a pool at work with 6 of us buying 15 lottery tickets a week. One week we had 4 of the first 5 plus the Mega ball. The number we missed was off by 2 digits. Had we got that it was 425 million. Instead we got $10K split six ways, after taxes it was about $1270 apiece.

I know of two- A local was just a few weeks out of prison, ans won it. He died a few years later and his kids got the benefits of it.
The other guy bought two shares a a pool lotto at his work, and they hit 40M or so. I think his cut was 4M. He kept working and just lived his life as normal. He was an arrogant penis before winning, and I think he worsened even though he never flaunted his new money.

1, our customers won about 7 mil. Didn’t change their lifestyle, pissed off their kids and other family because they were tight with it and kept living normal.
