We need special laws for actors who kill people with props. They were just pretending and it happened.

Some blanks still shoot some kind of wadding intended to keep the powder in place. Usually it's just a circle of paper or filler but with enough speed behind it, can kill someone at close range.

Accidents and injuries from prop guns are pretty common but injuries are usually minor and can be treated on set. The only reason this story got big was because it was one with an extremely rare death.

You can blame Baldwin but every film set with weapons is required to have a professional present to ensure that the weapons are properly handled and maintained. That's the person I would be investigating off the bat. If there wasn't an expert on hand, then I would be looking at the production company and producers. However, I would also make the argument that Baldwin should be experienced enough to know the basics of gun handling on a set.

A prop gun with a blank can be deadly within 5 feet. As far as the question, why was he pointing at the director and cinematographer, actors point where they're told to point.

Whats the first thing you do when you pick up a gun ?

Aim it at someone you don't like and pull the trigger to see if it's loaded or not.
