I don’t post very often, but I would like to spread the word about a new lodge on Lake Picachos: Gallo’s Fishing Lodge.

These fellas are doing a heck of a job on the lake. The accommodations are TOP notch, the service is TOP notch, and the experience is TOP notch. These guys have the lake down and are absolutely laying it down. For further information, please let me know or search Gallo’s Fishing Lodge on Facebook.

I have been to Picachos over 15 times. My trips there have lead me to look for some real estate for my future retirement. These guys, truly, know what they are doing.

... skip piccachos and go to Salto, or baccac or any of the others... Been multiple time to mutiple lakes... And piccachos I a fish factory... But they Are 98% under 3 pounds... Caught 1200 fish in 4 days...biggest I caught was a 5

5 boats, 10 guys... Biggest of trip 7.6...

If you want to take a kid or a wife sure... But hardcore guys are gonna be disappointed

Ya need some company on that trip? Been thinking about going to both of them. Went to Comedero with Bob Ridgeway and a few of the guys from Southwest parts years ago.

A buddy and I fished Picachos last December and stayed at Ron Speed's. The accommodations and service were excellent but the fishing was disappointing...at least for me. We expressed our desire to target big fish and spent the majority of our time in deep water throwing A rigs, swimbaits, large jigs and deep diving crankbaits. After four days of fishing my top 5 were less than 24 pounds and we never caught a five pounder. The upside, if you are a numbers guy, is that we went out one morning to see how long it would take to catch 100 bass of any size. We focused on cover in shallow water with small squarebills and floating lipless crankbaits and we accomplished our goal by 9:20. 90% of them were less than 2 pounds but it was fast, furious and fun. We are going to MX again this January...to El Salto.

Another fun trip. Found them in the hardwoods. Such a fun trip.
