The only motel I know of close is the Belmont Inn and Suites, in Tatum and I don't know about it. The online rating is 3.8. If you go to Longview, do NOT stay at a hotel near I-20. You have to go to the north side of Longview around HY-259 (Eastman Road) and Loop-281. There are also a whole lot of places to eat on the north loop.

There needs to be a VRBO-type site for fishermen's cabins. Every time I've looked at a VRBO, the owners seemed to think I was bringing my picky wife along and needed luxury accommodations (she's really not picky and won't be coming). I just need a place to sleep and park my boat and trailer. Cheap. I slept in the back of my pickup a couple of nights recently, paying $12.00 for the privledge of being kept awake all night by beach partiers. Campgrounds would rent me a tent site, but sleeping in my truck was a no-no(?). IslandJim
