OK, been waiting on cooler weather - like most everyone!
I am planning to get to the lake this evening in time for a couple of hours of fishing, then tomorrow most of the day. Weather says NW 15-25 this evening, N 10-15 tomorrow, then letting up Sat night and Sunday - light and variable...
CC did not get a lot of the rain over the last few days, that the lakes N of DFW did... water level only went up .06 in last week, so not a lot of creeks with cool feed water. Also, wind has been out of the south hard last few days, and is showing SW at 9 right now, has started to shift. Saying it will be NW at 13 by 1 pm, and increasing from there. ( we all know they are 100% right all the time! )
Where would you start looking this evening? How deep? Shelves, southern shores with the N - NW winds pushing onto them? Mid lake humps? Shoreline drop off's running along river channels? Try the feeder creeks? Shallow flats?
Have not gotten to fish much last month or so, and really want to make the most out of the next day or two... Want to burn drags - not gas! LOL
Thanks in advance everyone. IM me if you want to rather than post.
Will let everyone know how it goes. Good luck everyone!

Weโre fishing Sunday with light to no wind in the morning and Iโm expecting to have look hard and grind for good fish with the water in the 70s. I expect to find fish in the top 1/3 of the lake but will be scanning in mid depths mid lake first as I make my way north to those areas. I will be looking on the flats close to the channel and also shoreline pockets with contours that have wind blowing into them. Will also check some 10 ft water with some ledges that drop off into 20 ft. If I donโt mark anything good Iโm heading to the mouths of creeks and scanning them all the way up into the shallows.

Watch out on CC with N. winds like these coming today. Lake is ofter referred to as the washing machine for a reason. Aside from that, I haven't been on CC in a couple of years, but I would still target northern half of lake, shallow to about 20. At least I would start with that plan.

Thanks guys! Work and kids football just changed my plans some, and cancelled tonight's run. With 15-25 and gusty N winds, might be for the best.
TRH - you are right about CC with N or with S winds... can be a hand full to just flat out dangerous at times if you are in the wrong place at the wrong time, or trapped across the lake from where you need to be
Think I will run up north in the morning, scanning around the channels and see what we can find.
Good luck and be careful all!

Nice work Mr. Kennedy! I really wanted to go up north, but just did not want to fight that wind and waves... I caught a few eaters, a 7 was biggest, but no overs. Also a 1.6 crappie... thought I had a dink and was surprised he stayed on the hook. Went in the cooler! Was a nice fall day, relaxing, and not too many jet flea's out! Hope to see you soon.
