Got out in the wind early Sunday. I had some worms - looking for a place I could take the grandkids to catch blue gill next time they visit.

Found bass chasing small shad in the far cove by the dam. These fish were pretty aggressive but I could not get them to bite a crank bait or swim bait.
Found a white beetle spin and it was on - caught fish for 2hrs. These were not giants but lots of fun - I had a serious backlash trying to cast lite lures and only had a crappie rod in the boat so everything was caught on it with 6lb mono. I have not made that many casts in a while - arm is still sore.

Lake Jacksonville is about 15 minutes from the house - I don't usually target bass but had a blast. Wish the grands were with me.
