This, I have neither band on my fairly extensive rock library.

I watched the beatles first time on american television, ed sullivan, 63.
they were the rage because they had the hair, new type of rock n roll and millions of girls swooning over them. it was all about publicity but they did make some awesome music, yellow submarine is one of my favorites
prefer the stones over the bugs, I just like the bluesy style they have and if you look at it straight on they are still goin strong in their 70s. gotta give them that.

The Beatles are by far the biggest musical group of all time. No one else comes close. They are to bands what Elvis is to solo acts and Babe Ruth is to athletes, the biggest stars in history.
I never cared much for the Stones. They have about five songs that don't cause me to change the station when they come on.

The Beatles changed music forever. The Stones were another good band from England.

The people who bought and listened to enough Beatles records to give them to the top five spots on the Billboard chart in the same week...the only time any act has come close to doing that...apparently didn't think they were boring.
April 4, 1964
1. Can't Buy Me Love 2. Twist And Shout 3. She Loves You 4. I Want To Hold Your Hand 5. Please Please Me
They had 20 number one songs in eight years. 8 of their last 10 singles went to #1, and the two that didn't were #4 and #8. Maybe some people didn't care for them, but more people did love them than any band in history.
