Apparently Gov. Abbott signed an executive order preventing any forced COVID vaccinations. This includes by any private entity.

My wife was being forced to take the poke by Nov 1 or lose her job at her hospital. She's been very upset about this.

I don't understand why anyone working at a hospital wouldn't want to be vaccinated. Seems like some good personal protection. I guess I'm missing something about all the folks willing to risk getting really sick or being put on a ventilator, or worse.

There is a non-mRNA vaccine in the pipeline and she wants to wait on that one by Novavax.

Technically the vac mandate is not a law but is to be a directive from OSHA, I think. It is also my understanding technically they haven’t even done that yet. I think the “suggestion” is “nice government money you have there to bad if you where to lose it”. I guess we will find out what happens when states go up against the feds.
I think the courts have already ruled on hospitals requiring vaccines some time ago and it is within their purview to do it.

Biden thought the "mandate" would raise his approval ratings. Let's not pretend he is a white knight fighting against COVID for the greater good. He is hoping his low rating does not tank his party in mid terms.

Today's inflated total Covid death totals after two years stand at .217% of the US population. Basically, this is all being done for a disease that causes primarily no symptoms or modest symptoms is the vast majority of those who test positive. After two years, the total deaths have not impacted 99.783% of the population and this includes all of the normal flu and respiratory deaths that have been lumped in and called Covid. Just check the CDC records for these other two death causes in all years up to 2020 and then look at those numbers for the past two years which have mostly disappeared.

A solid half dozen people from this forum are dead from COVID. A bunch others have had it and are still dealing with long term damage. They openly write about their hardship. Yet we still have people on here arguing against the vaccine and saying COVID is no big deal. 99.78% chance you won't be impacted. Nothing more than the flu. Only kills old people with comorbidities...

99.78% odds of being fine is a nationwide average pumped up by 100 million youths who are almost completely unimpacted. Odds are, you are not average. News flash, most of you on this forum are old. Most of you are clinically overweight. Many have high blood pressure, asthma, diabetes, etc...

Odds are if you get COVID you do not have a 99.78% chance of coming out the other side completely unscathed. Your risk assessment math is way off.

The vaccine has been injected into billions of people across the globe. It's safe and effective at minimizing the risk of sever disease.

If you want the vaccine it, get it. If you don't, don't. Stop trying to convince folks COVID is no big deal though. For many people it's downright nasty.
