Was out on Naconiche this Friday afternoon and Saturday for a small club tournament. Didn't get many bites up in the big timber on Friday, so stayed mostly on the main lake Saturday. All my bites came on a weightless worm or a jig in the grass or around some sort of structure. A few guys in our group caught a some on poppers in the morning and shakyheads later in the day. I've heard stories of giants in that lake, just need to spend more time up there to find them.
The local-yocals were out in full force on Saturday in their tin-rigs. I'm sure some of them have boater etiquette, but the ones we saw had none! Getting their boats ready on the ramp, not turning off their headlights, no boat lights (red/green/white) to be found and they would run wide open 20' off your bow and not care.
It's a great lake and enjoy fishing it, but most of the locals have the attitude that they own that lake and we all shouldn't be there.

Sound pretty normal to me. If you listen close enough, you'll hear stories of "giants" on every lake. Catching them is a totally different story.

Be safe,

I have a 9-13 of it 4 days after it was open to the public. Caught many bigger fish out of it. I had heard tpwd retired several share linkers in it.
