Played golf last two days. Yesterday deer we saw were browsing and hanging out. Today saw 3 sets of bucks fighting and numerous bucks chasing does.

Seems a good bit early... When we hunted in Huntsville, it seemed like the rut didn't kick off until the third week of November, by Thanksgiving it was full swing.

I thought it was early. We were surprised at the big difference in only one day.we saw one small buck at Legacy Hills yesterday and over a dozen at Cowan Creek today. Courses are less than 2 miles apart at one point.

All it takes is for one doe to come in heat. I got a game camera pic of the biggest buck on the ranch last year mounting a doe on Oct. 25th.

Deer fight year round. They even chase doe around. Usually they chase them away from the food though. Doe only get the stank leg once a year though.
