My tournament partner was trying to pull a shakey head out of a tree when it came loose and hit me like a bullet. It split my shirt and my skin, made a bloody mess, and left a bruise. Hurt like hell. Good reminder to always warn your partner and hold the rod down, not up, when pulling on a snagged lure.

I got one in the shin today. Custom 3/8oz. Little dink hit it in a foot of water. Swung hard and it came flying in without a worm. An hour later, my partner takes an owner in the stomach. Hahaha. His drew blood mine drew a few cuss words.

Good remembrance to turn your head when pulling a lure free! That same weight could put you in the hospital having eye surgery! “FOUR”! 🏌️‍♂️I would say “glad it turned out OK for you” but looks like it really didn’t!

Yeah I'm glad it hit my shoulder. I'm fine. If it hit my neck or face it could've been bad.

I have been hit by drop shot weight behind ear by partner and had partner stick a treble in my ear. I'll take the treble hook all day. I thought i was gonna [censored] my pants when the drop shot hit me.

Looks unpleasant. Glad you're OK. For this reason I wear my sunglasses at all times when fishing. And I always turn my back when it's time to max out the drag and do the straight pull.

Had a model A hit me in the ear like that. Ruined a shirt and half a back decks worth of carpet it bled so much. Pushed hook thru and cut it off. Also had a 1/2oz jig smack me right in the middle of my chest once. Knocked the wind out of me. Felt like I got hit by a car.

Had a 3/0 worm hook stuck in the back of my hand. Partner cut it out for me…..

As my dad would say.. I've had worse cuts to my eyeball.

Glad it wasn't worse for you! Weirdest one I ever had was at Ray Roberts. Hung up some 20 pound mono back in the day and pulled on it til it snapped. The recoil hit me in the stomach and as I reached down to pull up my shirt to see how bad it was I could see it was my shirt was stuck to my skin. I lifted the bottom of my shirt up and could see the mono had gone into my stomach about 1/2 an inch. No weight or hook. The speed on the line drove it into my skin that far. So weird pulling that line OUT of my skin!!

I got hit in the eye yesterday trying to unsnag my lure. I was very lucky the back of the hooks hit me instead of the front. My eye is fine but my eyelid is cut.
