Fished the Hill Country on two of three days off. Fished two different rivers and the fish are active on both. Fished from Kayak solo. Both buddies had to work. Fished about 5 hours each trip and caught a nice variety of Redear, Channel Cats, Large Mouth Bass, Redbreast, and Guadalupe Bass. I did catch one Rio. Small spinning baits were used with a Chartreuse/Black Bitsy Minnow getting the best results. A medium/slow retrieve worked the best. Caught about 40 to 50 fish each trip. Most of the sunnies were in the 7 to 8 inch range with a couple going into the 9 inch range. The Channel's were from 1 to 3 pounds, and the bass were in the 1 to 2 pound range. The Rio was 8 inches. That was only my fourth Rio caught this year. All fish were released to fight again.
