Ok, did a really stupid thing…recently installed Garmin Livescope system, ran the 10 gauge wire from bow directly to my cranking battery. After being away for 5 weeks, came back to the boat and all three batteries are dead. I figure the Garmin black box was on and drained all three batteries. Yes, I have a pergo switch and it was in the off position. Anyway, my question is, I need to install a power switch somewhere along the line, where have other folks wired in a switch and would anyone recommend a specific switch? Thanks in advance.

How did the gls10 drain 3 batteries, when it should only be hooked to one? I put a switch at my console, but you can put it anywheres that it’s convenient for you, just have to remember to use it.

Yes, a simple on/off toggle switch should be installed.

Make sure you get a switch sized correctly. I would say anything rated for 10+ amps should be sufficient. You could also connect the positive wire to your battery cutoff switch.

That should solve the storage problem , I also put a simple toggle switch the wire that supplies the back box. I turn it off when not using livescope. MO

I solved the issue by cutting in a toggle switch. Works as intended. Thanks for the advice!
