Looking to book a trip to Choke Canyon Bass fishing early next year. Who do you recommend? What month and where to stay? Thanks

Choke Canyon Lodge is the best place to stay IMO. Super clean, secure, covered parking, and a covered kitchen/dining pavilion.
February is one of the best months to be there. January is crowded with duck hunters in some areas.
I haven't used any guides there, so I don't know where to lead ya in that respect.

+1 on CCL and +10000 on the duck hunters. Last 2 years have been the worst in the past 20yrs I've fished choke. Duck hunters don't give a chit if your fishing and will fly by you in their loud azz surface drive boats at full throttle 10yds from your boat. I fish the river mainly and it is narrow. You would think they would have some common sense and slow down but no. Selfish only thinking of themselves  Side note i talked with 3 different groups of duck hunters at the 99 bridge ramp last year. All 3 groups were from Louisiana. That answerd all my questions. What they dont have ducks in Louisiana?

If you have an extra day after you bass fish and want to take home some blue catfish fillets, contact Marv Elledge (210-365-7967)...nice guy, very reasonable ($100 per person), and knows the lake like the back of his hand. We have limited out both times with him. He provides everything and also fillets them for you.
Live each day like it's your last because one day you'll be right!
