This was from a few weeks earlier - just haven't had time to post lately - been busy stalking black bears with the bow. So when heading into the back lakes i use a small zodiac or sometimes a canoe depending on the access conditions. Usually i drag the zodiac in on a trailer down abandoned logging roads using the ATV sometimes as far as 25 miles. In this case it was 8 miles of trail to access a lake with about 20 miles of shoreline in a block of public wilderness that's about 50 miles long by 20 miles wide. Weather was rainy for the first half of the day but cleared right out in the afternoon. We were out for about 8 hours and never saw another soul the entire day except at the trailhead on the way out we got checked by a warden.

The zodiac:

Essentially we were targeting bass and managed a bunch of smallmouth in the 1.5 to 2 pound range and a few bigger largemouth. Yours truly with the my largest fish of the day:

Dog loves being out as well:

Typical views on the lake (same lake but on different days):

Trails in can be rough and had a flat plus the slipper clip holding the leaf springs on the trailer broke on one side on the way in:

I always carry two spares when heading into these places so the flat was not a big deal but the leaf spring required a bit of thought but I managed to cobble it together enough to get out:

That redneck repair shows serious ingenuity!

Well done on the makeshift repair. I have limped a trailer home like that before.
