We have been fishing Eagle Mountain Lake over the past few weeks because it is close to our house and I was pre-fishing for my first high school bass tournament. A few times as we were looking for largemouth we would come across a school of white bass and stop for a while to catch them using the Mepps #4 and the MAL. A few times they were feeding at the surface, so we would cast out the MAL and burn it back to the boat. When they were not on top, we would use the Mepps method by casting out, crank it a few times from the bottom and let it fall again. We mostly found them on main lake points in 15-20 FOW. We spent about 20 hours on the lake over the past few weeks … 18 hours fishing for largemouth and caught 5 largemouth … 2 hours fishing for white bass and caught about 60 whites. That is why I love to fish for white bass! They are more consistent, easier to find, and you can catch a lot more in a shorter time. Plus they are good to eat! By the way I got 12th place out of 168 boats in the High School bass tournament! Lincoln You can get the MAL at www.Whitebasstools.com

I am right there with you Lincoln. I used to spend all day to catch 7-8 black bass and now can go out and catch 50-60 hard pulling fun catching white bass before lunch. Congratulations on your tournament placement. I love to see young men growing into the sport.

Nice job Lincoln. I agree. LMB fishing is fun and can be rewarding, but chasing whites usually has a lot more action...and taste better IMHO. Congrats on your placing in the tourney. If they would've had High School Bass Clubs and Tourneys back when I was in High School....I likely would've pursued a different career path!!

Lincoln, all the fishing stuff aside, you are quite articulate and express yourself well in writing. That is a gift not everyone possesses. Keep up the good work!
