I honestly believe they told Biden and the sad part is i also honestly believe he can't remember so he will deny it. He is brain dead. I think they told him and in his arrogance decided to 8gnore them. When it went bad he then lied to the nation about it.

The generals were wanting to leave 2500 in Afghanistan long term. In his interview, Biden said that in the context of getting out of the country in 2021 the 2500 troops did not come up. In that context, neither of them is lying.
He could have explained it differently when interviewed but he didn't know people would take his comment out of context.
Looks like the fact checkers disagree with you. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.cn...mony-contradiction-fact-check/index.html

The president and his military advisors had differing opinions on what should have been done.
Biden has steadfastly backed getting out of Afghanistan as soon as possible. His advisors had always wanted to remain in Afghanistan long term.
They recommended that we leave troops there and he was adamant that we leave. I believe the generals told Biden that they recommended that we should stay and told him to leave 2500. Biden believed we should get out. The call was made and as the report said on Aug 25 the generals went all in on getting us out. By then of course Kabul was surrounded and we were in the last stages of our withdrawal.
Fact is I believe the generals were wrong and Biden and Trump were right in us getting out this year. We should have been out by May.

I believe what we have here are two different beliefs on our presence in Afghanistan. The military wanted to stay and the president wanted to get out.
It took them till we were almost out before the generals got on board. That is Biden's fault for not making it clear that there was no more discussion on the issue and why IMO that they did not have a good plan to get everyone out.

They were both wrong: Trump - negotiated a deal with terrorists Biden's - pullout game is weak and cost us 13 lives They're both ignorant.

No one can spin the fact that Biden lied when asked directly during the TV interview . They have the transcript and the video that clearly shows he did. In addition he denied anyone advising him to keep troops there in interviews afterwards. He was asked directly and he lied per the comments from the Generals.

The US should have started withdrawing after Bin Laden was killed.

No, the US should have been out of there NLT 30 days after the failure of the Tora Bora operation.
I blame Bush 43. But he knew that with the Taliban in charge there would be a shortage of opium/heroin in the world. We couldn't have that now, could we?
Look! Up in the sky. It's a bird. It's a plane. No, it's an EMP!

Milley is a coward and I'm happy that I didn't have to serve under him. Amen. Shameful. I just told some of the boys at work yesterday that “I never thought I would utter these words, but I’m now glad that I served under clinton”
Team wolfs I had to perform. It took a minute to get it all in my mouth and another five to swallow it all.

The US should have started withdrawing after Bin Laden was killed. Guess Obama and Biden dropped the ball.

The US should have started withdrawing after Bin Laden was killed. This is the correct answer.
Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.
