After not bass fishing in 20 years, i'd like to post some not too subtle changes i've encountered. These changes may not be as obvious to someone that 'stayed in the loop'.
1. The 9" elite ti on the bow of the of the boat i purchased in march, really isn't too much of an upgrade from the units i had in the 90's. Looking back, i'm generally unimpressed. BUT, the 12" elitie ti at the helm, with side scan is awesome! Ledges/tanks/etc can be dissected in fraction of the time that traditional down scan takes.

2. When i decided to sell my bass boat and stick to bay boats in 2000/2001, there was not yet a formal introduction of Ned rigging, Tokyo rigging, free rigging, etc.. And i don't even think wacky rigging was out yet!

3. back then, the 'pros' were on tv, in the venues of bassmasters. It seems these days, EVERYONE is a pro!! I can't believe people wrap their boats and probably never earned 10k$ from tournament winnings in their lives.

4.this is a BIG one. I just installed hb mega 360 last week. After a few min. tweaking the settings, well, see the attached photos!!!! I have only ran the unit for 30 min so far, and am already pleased beyond expectations.

5. 20 yrs ago if I wanted a deep running crankbait, I tie on a dd22, fat free shad, or a poe's. must be 15 makers of deep cranks now..

wacky works everywhere. shallow, deep (with weight), grass, cover. Only place I don't fish it is brush piles.

It's quite simple...I don't like most Strike King Products, but unless Norman is making them better than they did 15 years ago, the Strike King XD series is a superior product. Nothing worse than spending all day tuning a Norman crankbait.

Strike King XD are good crankbaits for sure, Hooks are junk, but they catch fish, But if me personally had to chose one brand of crankbait it would be a Norman deep little N.deep baby N, DD14, or DD22, I will give it to strike king on the 8XD and 10XD because Norman doesn't have anything in that range. Norman has been the same for 30 years. $$$$$$ to every angler that's ever fished one. I here to say even a untuned Norman has won $

God I find this interesting! I really feel like most 6XDs I take out of the pack inevitably run hard left or right. Although I do get my fair share of Normans that don't run true either, I find them easier to tune.

Thats my money fish

They used to be called ski boats. Now theyโ€™re called wakesurf boats and their water loaded sponsons will rock your world. Make sure to keep your head on a swivel and donโ€™t worry about watching your line.

Wow, I have a ton of Norman crank baits and haven't had to tune many of them. Strike King...have to tune most of the time.
