I"m needing to replace my starting battery. Running a Merc 250 pro. I need a battery with alot of reserve capacity as I'm running a big solix graph, garmin livescope and helix graph. Anyone suggest a good battery for this setup?

Odyssey or X2 if you're running everything off it. I recently went to lithium for electronics and trolling. You can run your electronics solely on a 12v 50ah lithium then run a smaller cranking battery such a 34 blue top to save weight and still get 1000cca.

Duracell group 31 AGM battery from Sam's Club, can't beat the price point and I haven't had a single issue with it.

I have a X2 in my current boat and have to say its one impressive battery. My last rig had a Sams Club Duracell AGM, running three 12" graphs and it never left me stranded either. At $179 its hard to beat and about a 1'3 the cost of a X2.

I bought this last year, run four graphs and no complaints. I do not have a power pole charger either, just Minn Kota Precision
No complaints

I think this is an over thought topic.

You can do this two ways
- Buy expensive batteries and get a few years of battery life
- Or buy Cheap Walmart batteries and exchange them every year or 6 months

I choose the cheap rout and still save money, and I'm on the trolling motor a lot at 10 power, sight fishing or just beating bank searching and grinding. Having said that, I have had 0 juice before with both so I choose cheap route

With my center console it's a bitch to get the starting dual/purpose battery out as it runs my graphs too. After replacing a Batteries+ lead batter 2 years in a row, I moved to an Odyssey and it's been a dream. I would have put in a Duracell AGM from Sams as it's cheaper, but they never had what I needed in stock. Sams has the deep cycle for TMs, but not the dual purpose for kicker/graphs. Odyssey is a lot more $$$ but has a 3 or 4 year warranty. If it saves my back it's worth it.

I replaced all my batteries this year. Went with the X2 for the high amp needs of the merc + capacity needs to run 3 graphs + livescope. It's a heavy battery but I'm very pleased with the decision. It's a beast...
