After finding and servicing my late Dad’s old Mitchell 300’s, i got the itch to find and buy the first baitcaster that i bought back in the early 80’s. I think i bought it when i was probably 12 years old. I used my allowance amd paid $60 for it. It’s an old Daiwa Procaster Magforce PMF-1000. I’ve gone through it, cleaned and lubed it and upgraded the drag washer to carbontex. I took it out this morning and it worked flawlessly. Super smooth! I caught a couple of small fish on it and lost one. It wasn’t a huge project but it sure was fun so thought i’d share!

That’s what i was trying to say about this one. It’s not MY actual original reel but is the same make and model.

It was fun to fish with it the other day. It will go in the rod closet likely until deer season is over. I’ll break it out again next year and test it out some more!

ALL great reels provided you don't need parts. Plenty of donor reels available though. I'm eyeing a really nice ProLite PL-100 right now. Not willing to pay what they are asking at this point and I don't really need it but, for whatever reason, I'm enjoying the retro experience. Good Stuff!
