Zen 6’s and 3’s. I know it’s a crutch. I need it. 2 cigarettes today so far. 50 years of smoking must end. Help?

Keep looking forward. That’s why windshields are larger than rear view mirrors.

Acupuncture worked for me. Stay away from other smokers. Quit or cutback on alcohol

One day at a time. After trying to quit many times, I finally said enough when I got off of a flight and had 1 cig and 1 light left. That's been several years ago and I smoked for 45 years. Still think about it but I don't want the chains back on.

I’ve never quit cigs but I’ve quit smokeless. One day at a time. One hour at a time if you need it. Use a crutch if it keeps you from lighting one up. Eventually, you’ll give up the crutch too. But think about today today.

I quit smoking 9/11/2009.

My wife never quit and smoked up until the day she died (from lung cancer) 4/14/2018.

I love and miss her every day but life is all about choices. What will you choose ? ? ?

Just sayin'

Sorry for your loss Dan.

Day 6 starting now. My plan is to use Zyn 6’s for 2 weeks, then drop to Zyn 3’s for a couple weeks. After that I think I’ll try those herbal pouches mentioned on another thread.

Thanks for the support Dan and all.

Jeff

Okay - at 10 days without a cigarette or any nicotine in your body, the PHYSICAL addiction is gone. Your body does not crave nicotine, but your BRAIN and your HABNITS still crave the addiction but not so much the drug.

Back in the days I was quitting cigarettes, the day after I quit the act of lighting up a cigarette I found I had to make substitutions for the ACTS of smoking - for me, smoking was an ORAL thing - so I substituted :
peppermint toothpicks
sugar-free cough drops
chewing on pencils (only in extreme cases.
If you're driving and road rage consumes you, pull off the road and into a rest area or a WallyWorld parking lot and get out of the vehicle and open a cough drop and pop it in your mouth and walk around the parking lot until it's gone - you will find that your agitation and urge will be gone as well. Get back in your car and recite the Serenity prayer, then start the vehicle and continue on your way.
If you get into a situation at work or at home where you feel like you are in need of a break, excuse your self politely and repeat the above - go outside, open up a sugar free cough drop and walk around the block until the cough drop and your anxiety has left you. Repeat the Serenity prayer and return to the situation.

Serenity prayer:
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change
Courage to change the things I can
And the wisdom to know the difference . . . . . .

There's more to the prayer, but that's the gist of it.

You CAN do it . . . . .

Still not smoking. I’m on my last round of Zyn 6’s. I will drop to the 3’s when I’m out.
