I started the evening off doing pretty good. Had to change my jig, had just pinched some snuff. Didn’t catch another fish until I washed my hands and put on a fresh jig. I don’t guess I ever thought about it.

In my opinion, it was a coincidence. I have heard they don't like the smell of sunscreen and I lather up don't wash my hands and drop down and catch them. Crappie are not scent oriented from what I have found.

You have much more experience in this than I do, I agree it could be a coincidence. Antidotal evidence at best on a single trip to a single pier. But…. I did catch fish after I ch aged out.
