I fished a local lake that is mainly docks and brush piles. Water temp was upper 80s. Struggled to get a bite.

Found a ton of bait and some were surfacing. Most bait were in the 5-10’ depth no matter how deep the water was. I just couldnt find any fish. Tried flipping and crankbaits around the docks. Also tried a couple piles. Even tried running a crankbait just below the bait.

There was very little wind today and the weather pattern destabilized with warmer temps. The bass had been enjoying two weeks of cooler weather and moderate wind. That changed today. Bass don’t like change.

Also think early turnover has started, they don’t like that either…and water levels have been dropping.

Probably would have put on a crappie jig and a light 1/8th oz shaky head and fished the brush piles in 5-10fow.
Once that got boring; small 8foot diving crank and 1/2oz liplesss churning and burning for a reaction bite like you did around the docks.
