Champion Fish ( Gene) and I arrived at the two mile bridge ramp at 6:25 am and were in the water before daylight. We thought there would be some good shallow water action but Gene only got one. The water temp is still too high for the shallow bite. So we pulled off of that and went looking. The bite started out slow but as the day went on the fish woke up. We ended up boating 8 hybrid and had two come unhooked at the boat. Gene had the hot hand and got 7 of the 8 Hybrid. And we caught way over 150 big sand bass by the end of the day. Great trip Had a blast Gene . Ready to go again.

Good report and pics as usual, Keith, even with only half of a Dream Team out. laugh
The Boyer boys joined me for the 2nd shift 11 to 5pm and we did great as well. We caught good fish at almost all our all of our community hole spots, wirh Cloud best for mags and Wolf again for bigs. I got the Boyers converted to Mepps now and they caught a bunch on chartreuse mepps #3 Terry picked up at Scheels.

Beautiful day out. We didn't cross path but did stay connected on the phone. wink
Catching depth was 13 to 18 fow.

Sorry we didn’t see y’all Keith / Gene …. Will hook up another time! Great fish as always fellas ya make it look easy! Yes SeaPro Todd has shown us the Light clap on that all famous DennisC Mepps method …. Never thought I’d want to fish that ‘slow’ that ‘light’ that ‘etc etc. yawn
However after last weeks mepps fishing with SeaPro it made us head to fishing store and …..get that shorter rod (medium 6.0) Trylene 10lb. BigGame line and the #3 mepps killer cheers A new patience way of hauling in magnum sandbass when fish want that small to fry shad size feed and that ever so slow presentation! Caught some of my biggest sandbass ever yesterday. We did throw the 1.5 oz slab at times and caught a few but the consistency was not there along with throwing the biggo 8 inch kahuna spoon at some of the larger schools but with no luck (yesterday) splat At the end of the day it was just a great new way for pop n I to catch fish thanks again Todd for finally showing us the Mepps way of fishing……

Nice! I fished this morning (Saturday 18th) and found similar luck. Sitting in 5-8ft on a main lake point chasing top water. Then working the outer edges of that hump catching plenty of sand bass early. After reading some other posts I checked over on Wolf to find 5 or 6 guide boats trolling A Rigs. They were catching them good. I stayed clear of them and went up to finger point and put the Mepps to work. Caught them on every 3rd cast or so. Def not a bad day. Flat calm and blue skies always make me nervous. Going to try again tomorrow!

Keith put us on fish from the very first cast to the last cast. We only fished 3 spots all morning and all 3 spots had tons of fish on them and big fish too. Arigs and big slabs were the to go lures. It was a great day Keith, thanks again.

Todd, Dr whiplash,
Sorry we didn't meet up. But like you said we were on the phone with each other all day. So glad you guys got Ray on some good fish. Next time we will hook up .

Chris, I was doing everything Gene was except using his rod and reel LOL. Some days they just don't look at your setup. But i was just happy he got to get 7 of them.
